THE STORY OF BROTHER OTHERS
by Brother Johnny "The Baptist" Campbell B.A.D.F.
Philippians 2:4 (KJV) Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
This is the story of a man by the name of Mr. OTHERS. You see, Mr. OTHERS was a Gentile proselyte who turned to Christ, and ends up being a soldier for Christ.
Mr. OTHERS first impression of JESUS is found in John 7:12:
John 7:12 (KJV) And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: OTHERS said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
In time, Mr. OTHERS, seeing the miracles Jesus performed, began to have doubts:
John 9:16 (KJV) Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. OTHERS said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
Brother Johnny's getting excited! Old OTHERS is getting under Holy Ghost conviction, or as black folks say, "the miseries!
In an attempt to rationalize the problem, Mr. OTHERS concluded that Jesus was just a prophet:
Matthew 16:14 (KJV) And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and OTHERS, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
Mr. OTHERS was a tightwad. He went along with the crowd, and offered Jesus dead tree leaves that cost him nothing, instead of his expensive coat:
Matthew 21:8 (KJV) And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; OTHERS cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
He's A Baptist for sure! He took the cheapest way out! Amen, Amen!
Mr. OTHERS hung out with a crooked crowd:
Luke 5:29 (KJV) And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of OTHERS that sat down with them.
In desperation, when he saw Jesus on trial, Mr. OTHERS thought to himself, "How can this man be the Messiah?" So he joined the crowd that tortured Jesus.
Matthew 26:67 (KJV) Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and OTHERS smote him with the palms of their hands,
Mr. OTHERS even told his boss that Jesus was no King, and Jesus knew that he said it:
John 18:34 (KJV) Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did OTHERS tell it thee of me?
But the day Mr. OTHERS walked up Calvary's Hill behind Jesus, something happened to him which changed his life forever.
Matthew 27:42 (KJV) He saved OTHERS; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Brother OTHERS went to the tomb with the disciples:
Luke 24:1 (KJV) Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
He used to be known as "Mr." But now he's part of the family. He's now known as "Brother!"
Now Brother OTHERS is working with the Apostle Paul:
Acts 17:33-34 (KJV) So Paul departed from among them. Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and OTHERS with them.
To Brother Johnny, that's evidence of Salvation! Amen!
The Apostle Paul had the privilege to teach Brother OTHERS:
1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to OTHERS, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 14:19 (KJV) Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach OTHERS also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
Everyone knew about Brother OTHERS' changed life. Even Paul knew how wicked of a sinner he was:
Ephesians 2:3 (KJV) Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as OTHERS.
Brother OTHERS gave his life for his Lord:
Hebrews 11:35 (KJV) Women received their dead raised to life again: and OTHERS were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
